The Pennsylvania Cancer Control Consortium (PAC³) respects the privacy of every individual who visits its web site, responds to on-line surveys, or makes contact via electronic mail or telephone. Committed to protecting the privacy of its users, the information gathered by PAC³ is used solely to monitor its effectiveness in providing relevant and credible information, in answering consumers' questions, and in improving the site.
PAC³ collects data about how its site is searched to understand and respond to the needs of users. This data does not contain personally identifiable information. PAC³ may use cookies and collects information about the domain name of the server from which the user is visiting. It is aggregated and used to determine the number of visitors to the web site each day and sources of traffic. However, the user can, in general, visit the web site without identifying him/herself or disclosing any personal information.
If the user chooses to respond to on-line surveys and provide any personal information, this information will be stored in secure databases so that PAC3 can better understand user needs and provide more focused service. Email addresses provided by users are employed to respond to comments submitted through feedback and survey forms, when indicated.
Various people at PAC³ may see the material submitted by users. The information submitted by users may be entered into an electronic database that is shared with the PAC3 membership and the PAC³ Coordinating Office staff. In other limited circumstances, including requests from legal authorities, PAC3 may be required by law to disclose information submitted.
Users should note that electronic mail and other Internet communications channels are not necessarily secure against interception. While reasonable precautions are taken, such as encrypting communications where appropriate, if communication is of a sensitive nature, or includes information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, or medical history, the user may wish to consider sending such correspondence by postal mail instead.
At no point does PAC³ now, or will it ever sell, trade or rent personal information about its users to any outside individual or organization. The PAC³ web site and any related PAC³ web pages are not affiliated with any advertisers.
